Let’s hope that the little guys with the creative ideas and IPs get the protection from and financial recognition by the giants of artificial intelligence and that it is not just the prerogative of the large media corporations.
Everyone in the direct to consumer space seems to be well positioned for this.
This is no small thing! Yes, I get the irony, but it also reinforces the value of IP. The opportunity, really, is for emerging media companies to keep it and use it to leverage revenues. At the small end of the scale, that might not mean much, but if someone can aggregate the royalty revenues of enough smaller IP holders, you end up with a portfolio. And if License deals can replace equity holders or GP/LP structures, I think we have a whole new asset management business model emerging.

I’m thinking this won’t benefit indie film makers. At least not yet.
